Puppyland claims to be a 'small, family owned business' who is 'attacked by animal rights activists'. They claim that 'animal rights activists' use 'scare tactics' to sway the public's opinion. Let's take a look at what Puppyland does.
"Puppy payments are around $100/month and you can take your puppy home right away!"--Puppyland's quote on nearly every puppy post.
We already know Puppyland's 'rehoming program' is a marketing scheme. Turns out their 'financing' is too!
When you apply for that $100/month financing, what they fail to tell you is that your first payment is the ONLY payment that is around $100/month. They also fail to tell you that your "payment plan" is actually a lease.
YEP. A LEASE ON A LIVING ANIMAL.
Not only is Puppyland taking advantage of unsuspecting citizens and misleading them with their 'financing' scheme, they are also using scare tactics to make sure those customers keep quiet about what really goes on at Puppyland. Check out #8 on Puppyland's Lease Terms.
Is this really a business we should be supporting?
To Recap, Puppyland In Puyallup:
- Purchases and resells puppy mill puppies.
- Has zero policies in place to protect the puppies and the public.
- Misleads the public into believing they 'own' their puppy when really, they are leasing it.
This is not a "small, family owned business" that should be supported.
